Our Smoke Story
Built on fire, craft, and time
What started as two careers built on service turned into a passion built around food, family, and fire. My husband served as a police officer at Duke University while I worked as a flight nurse. Long shifts, unpredictable hours, and a shared love of taking care of people brought us together. Somewhere between those busy days, we discovered another passion….cooking, grilling, and gathering people around great food. What began as cooking for friends and small events quickly turned into catering requests, then larger gatherings, and eventually the dream we are living today: serving barbecue in our very own restaurant. We believe great barbecue starts with patience, quality ingredients, and real wood smoke. That's why we use hickory and cherry woods to bring out the true flavor of our meats; creating the perfect balance of bold smoke, tenderness, and flavor in every bite. Our barbecue sauce is homemade and inspired by the rich, sweet, tangy flavors of Midwest-style BBQ. But since we also love honoring local traditions, you'll find classic Eastern-style vinegar sauce on our tables too; bringing together a little bit of where we came from and where we are now. More than anything, this restaurant is about people. We love getting to know our customers, hearing their stories, watching families gather around the table, and being a small part of your celebrations, traditions, and everyday moments.
